Coalition Management

I landed a job for a property management company in 2016 to redesign their website. The company while being well established in the area for more than 30 years had managed to let their website take a back seat in favor of a more traditional approach to customer interactions. My job was to bring them back up to speed, while keeping their personal touch at the forefront.

Creating a Simplified A/V Setup

While working with Product Hive, I designed a diagram to help with the AV setup. It is a break down of 2 manuals, a 1 page set up guide written by the staff and 20 minutes of onsite training. The staff is all volunteers, so someone is always in need of training or a refresher course. This was my solution to help free up seasoned staff so they could focus on other parts of the setup. Decreasing supervision needs has helped make the whole process a lot smoother.

VRBO Usability Test

This was a design challenge to run usability testing on the VRBO mobile App, specifically the search filter. I conducted an in-person usability study in order to gather insights into user performance and challenges. The study collected information such as task completion rates, time on task, navigation and content insights, overall satisfaction, areas of concern, and unmet needs.

Baby Shower Brews

Home brewing is a hobby of mine, so when a friend asked me to make some libations for his baby shower I decided to make a few punny beer signs to go with the beverages. They are a Laotian-American family and huge Star Wars fans. "Luuk" is "baby" in Laotian, in case you were wondering. I decided to make an IPA since it's always a crowd pleaser in the states and a gluten free hard cider as a friendly alternative.  A made a couple of beers signs by hand drawing them on wood plaques...

Backcountry.com

Making good coffee just so happens to be a hobby of mine. In fact, I have written a few manuals on the topic to help new hires overcome their fear of complex coffee machines in the workplace. The reality is that once you understand the basic grind types and water to coffee ratios, the rest is easy. I focus on the foundations of traditional espresso drinks because they are the building blocks of a good barista.

Docket

This was a design challenge to mitigate time zone changes for working professionals.  My approach was a calendar flow and interface that was smart enough to suggest meeting times, accounts for changing time zones, and could proactively work for the user to make sure they are always on time for their meetings. The challenge was centered around an individual that would travel 3 out of 4 weeks of every month and almost alway internationally. Between all the travel to different time zones and a busy meeting schedule in different cities, the individual constantly finds it challenging to show up to the right place at the right time. Over 30 screens were created for this challenge, the selected screens are the key highlights.
